- A $150.00 Utility deposit. The deposit may be returned when use is terminated, and the account has been paid in full. Water deposits may be also be refunded, upon request of the customer, after one year of continuous and timely payments.
- Utility bills for water, sewer and garbage are mailed from the City Office around the first of each month. Payment is due by 20th of each month. Late payment will result in 1.5% finance charge. PAYMENTS MAY BE PAID BY MAIL; OUTSIDE DROP BOX LOCATED AT THE CITY OFFICE; FIRST PREMIER BANK-LAKE NORDEN BRANCH; ON-LINE AT lakenorden.govoffice.com. OR SET UP AS AN ACH AUTOMATIC PAYMENT.
- If water hydrants are flushed, they are flushed on Wednesdays. During this process, you may experience low water pressure.
- The City contracts regular and recyclable materials garbage service from Cook’s Wastepaper & Recycling (1-877-715-3640). Regular garbage service is every Thursday- place in blue containers. Single stream recycling is the first and third Thursday. Red recycling containers are available upon request.
- The City enforces a dog ordinance that states dogs must leashed or other wise restrained at all times to the owner's property or person. Dog licenses ($2.00) are required and may be obtained at the Annual Rabies Clinic held the first Saturday following Memorial Day weekend or at the City Office. Violations of the dog ordinance are subject to fines.
- Use of fireworks within the City limits is restricted by City Ordinance to the following dates: June 27-July 5 & December 28-January 1 as stated in SDCL 34-37-10.
- Weeds and grasses with height of eight inches will be mowed by city employees at the owners expense; cost to the landowner will be $100 for the first hour and then $50 for each additional hour with a minimum of $100 will be charged.
